$150K Damage Caused By Odenton Townhouse Fire: Officials

An Odenton townhouse sustained an estimated $150,000 damage after smoking material on the deck sparked a blaze, fire officials said.

ODENTON, MD — An Odenton townhouse sustained an estimated $150,000 damage after smoking material on the deck sparked a blaze, Anne Arundel County Fire officials said Monday. The fire was reported just before 9 p.m. on July 5 at 2410 Killarney Terrace, in a three-story townhouse at the end of a row.

Flames were showing on all three levels on the back exterior of the house and fire was inside on the third floor and in the attic when firefighters arrived. Crews had the fire under control in about 25 minutes with additional time needed to extinguish hot spots and investigate, the department said.

Firefighters contained the fire to the home of origin with no spread into the adjacent property. The end-of-the-row townhome in the next section of homes had melted siding from the heat of the fire, officials said.
