2 Odenton Men Charged in Thefts from Vehicles, More Arrests Possible

Anne Arundel County Police have charged two Odenton men for stealing from unlocked vehicles in the Piney Orchard area.

ODENTON, MD — Two Odenton men have been charged with a string of thefts from vehicles in and around the Piney Orchard community in recent weeks, say Anne Arundel County Police. All of the victims’ vehicles were left unlocked and the suspects stole items including music devices, GPS systems, wallets, gift cards, sunglasses, and cellular telephones.

One of the victim’s credit cards was used at a Walmart, 3549 Russett Green East in Laurel, to purchase electronics. Police released images from the store’s camera system of the thieves' purchases and that led to tips on the suspects’ identities.

The suspects who were arrested Wednesday are:

  • Michael Anthony Whaley, 21, of the 2400 block of Jostaberry Way in Odenton
  • Trevor Clinton Bochar, 23, of the 600 block of Trout Run Court in Odenton

Authorities served search warrants Wednesday at both men's homes, where police reportedly found numerous pieces of evidence linking the pair to the theft from auto case.

Whaley was served with an arrest warrant charging him with various offenses related to the theft from auto incidents. A summons was issued against Bochar charging him with similar offenses. Additional charges related to evidence that was recovered at the homes are pending, including the possibility of charging more suspects involved in the thefts, police say.
