2 MD Officers Hurt While Arresting DUI Suspect Who Drove Into Ditch: Police
Two Anne Arundel police officers were hurt when they arrested a Prince George's DUI suspect who drove into a ditch, authorities said.

LAUREL, MD — Two Anne Arundel County police officers were hurt last week when they arrested a Hyattsville DUI suspect in Laurel, authorities said. The officers' injuries were minor.
Police identified the arrestee as 23-year-old Deandre Smith. Authorities said they heard about "a subject passed out behind the wheel of the car" on Jan. 17.
Officers responded to the intersection of Maryland Route 198 and Corridor Marketplace. The driver woke up and drove onto the wrong side of the road and into a ditch, a press release said.

The suspect tried to run away, but police said they caught him and found a loaded handgun in his waistband. The Anne Arundel County Police Department charged him accordingly.
