20 Businesses Patch Readers Want To Open In Odenton

ODENTON, MD — Is there a certain kind of business that is missing in Odenton? A type of restaurant you can't find in town? Is there another specialty store you could use? Or maybe a recreation venut the community needs?

Odenton Patch recently asked our Facebook followers which businesses they want to see open in town. Lots of you suggested restaurants, including Waffle House, a good Irish pub, and a vegan eatery or baker. There was also vocal support for a craft store like Michael's or JoAnn Fabrics, and for a dog park.

Reader Carol Barton wants "something decent for local teens to do on date night. Almost anything but another 7-11/convenience store. A dog park. But I've said all that before. Waste of electronic breath."

And Lisa Montecino Krizan agreed Odenton needs a place for teens, "like a coffee shop or diner with jukeboxes, even a dance floor. Maybe a drop-in teen-only rec center with indoor and outdoor activities. The skate park is good but there is no indoor space."

Recreation centers and summer job programs for youth are needed, said Janelle Brown. While rebuilding is under way in the Odenton-Severn area, it won't benefit the neighborhoods, she wrote, "which is beyond sad."
