Three suspects are in custody in connection with a fatal stabbing that briefly prompted three Crofton schools to go on lockdown.

On the police department’s Twitter feed, authorities said a suspect was in custody about 10 a.m. and described the incident as a domestic-related murder. The deceased victim is an adult man who had stab wounds to his upper body.

Police have released no details about the suspects, but say the community is not in danger. They are asking anyone with information on the case to call the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The victim and three suspects – a man and two women – all knew each other, police spokesman T.J. Smith told WBAL TV.

Police said the victim was familiar with his assailants and it was not a random incident. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The women, described as persons of interest in the death, were taken into custody after a traffic stop near Crownsville Road and Interstate 97, says WBAL. The male suspect, also considered a person of interest, was taken into custody soon after as he was coming out of a wooded area near Crownsville Road and I-97.
