$40K In Cash And Drugs Seized, 2 Odenton Men Arrested: Police

Two Odenton men face multiple drug charges after Anne Arundel County Police seized nearly $40,000 in cash and drugs at their residence.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Two Odenton men face multiple drug charges after Anne Arundel County Police stopped their vehicle in Gambrills, which ultimately led to the seizure of nearly $40,000 worth of heroin, fentanyl, other drugs and cash. On Feb. 22 an officer made a traffic stop on a 2001 Honda Accord and smelled marijuana in the car. Police reportedly found 63.55 grams of marijuana and a digital scale in the Honda.

The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Morris III, 24 of the 700 block of Hammond Branch Road in Odenton, was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, 7.69 grams of cocaine and 12 Xanax bars, police said.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Morris' residence and seized:

  • Marijuana- 156.83 g. (estimated street value $3,136)
  • Cocaine- 35.69 g. (est. street value $3,569)
  • Heroine/Fentanyl- 118.80 gr (est. street value $14,256)
  • Xanax- 243 pills (est. street value ($1,944)
  • Crack- 29.06 gr (est. street value $2,906)
  • Bottle of Promethazine syrup
  • Packaging materials, scale and cutting agents
  • $13,924 in cash

Morris was charged with: CDS possession not marijuana, CDS possession marijuana over 10 grams, CDS possession large amount, CDS possession with intent to distribute narcotics, distribution and possession with intent to distribute a fentanyl/heroin mix, CDS possession with intent to distribute, and manufacture of CDS narcotic.

The passenger in the Honda — Julian Cassius Morris, 21, also of the 700 block Hammond Branch Road in Odenton — was charged with the same drug crimes, police say.
