ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD — While no road closures will take effect in connection with the Black-Eyed Susan and Preakness stakes being held at Laurel Park this week, a traffic advisory has been issued.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said officers will be monitoring traffic flows at major intersections along Maryland Route 198, Whiskey Bottom Road and Brock Ridge Road.
Officials have said that because the event's attendance is capped at 4,800 eventgoers on each day, the department "does not anticipate any significant extended traffic delays."
"We expect heavier-than-normal traffic as attendees arrive at the racetrack; however, major congestion is not foreseen," reads the latest advisory issued by the department.
"Appropriate staffing levels will be maintained both inside Laurel Park and around the perimeter for public safety and traffic control."
