Anne Arundel Police Sergeant Charged In Odenton Assault

An Anne Arundel County Police sergeant has been charged with domestic assault of his girlfriend in Odenton, officials said.

ODENTON, MD — An Anne Arundel County Police sergeant has been charged with domestic assault of his girlfriend, officials said Sunday. Jeffrey Morgan, of the 500 block of Maple Ridge Lane in Odenton, has been charged with second-degree assault and is suspended without police powers, according to a news release from the department.

Morgan is a 24-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, currently assigned to the Bureau of Patrol as a sergeant.

About 11:50 p.m. Saturday, police officers were called to a report of a domestic assault at Morgan's address. The victim told officers that Morgan, who is her live-in boyfriend, physically assaulted her during an argument. She did not require medical treatment, the report said.

Investigators learned that there may have been an earlier unreported domestic assault involving Morgan and his girlfriend in January 2020.
