Armed Robber Holds Up Suntrust Bank Inside Gambrills Safeway

GAMBRILLS, MD — Anne Arundel County Police are searching for an armed man who robbed the Suntrust Bank located inside the Safeway store at 2644 Chapel Lake Drive in Gambrills.

Employees say a male suspect entered the bank just before 4 p.m Monday carrying a gun and demanded money. Bank employees complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled the bank in a vehicle that was waiting.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with an average build, black hair, and wearing dark clothing. No estimated age for the suspect was given. The getaway vehicle is a white, older style four-door Cadillac.
