Media Gallery: Student Art Auction Raises Money for Japan
We highlight four pieces from the silent auction of local student's artwork.
Students at hoped that small pieces of artwork would make a big difference for victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The artwork, created by members of the International Baccalaureate Art 11 class and the school’s chapter of the National Art Honor Society, were sold in a public silent auction starting Monday. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the American Red Cross, according to a release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).
The release states that the artwork, which has been matted, depicts scenes from Japan. Students chose which media they wanted to use and pieces include watercolor, pastel, acrylic, pencil, and mixed media.
