Victims, Suspect Identified in Homicide Near Dave & Buster's

James Edward Coleman, 22, of District Heights, was identified as the suspect in the Hanover homicides, which took place outside Dave & Buster’s. Coleman was fatally shot by Prince George's County officers Saturday morning.

The victims were identified as Chonsay Laquez Green, a 30-year-old Capitol Heights man, and Jeneen Desiree Dunn, a 25-year-old Greenbelt woman. The two were allegedly shot by Coleman in the parking lot outside Dave & Buster's just before midnight Friday. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Anne Arundel County detectives contacted Prince George's County police after they were told Coleman may be at a home in the 8100 block of Rydal Road in District Heights. The Washington Post reported that Coleman shared the home with his parents.

Prince George's police arrived at the house and waited for detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department. When Coleman saw the officers, he came out of the home holding a shotgun and an AK-47 assault rifle. He shot one officer with the shotgun before six Prince George's County officers fatally shot him multiple times, according to a release from the Police Department.

The injured officer—an 11-year veteran of the department—suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Police also said Coleman knew the two murder victims and the act was not "random." The mall was closed during the shooting, but the adjacent movie theater was still open.
