A Nov. 19 attic fire at a Gambrills house drew 59 firefighters to the scene. The three adults residing there have since been displaced.

GAMBRILLS, MD — An attic fire caused considerable damage to a two-story single-family home in Gambrills Tuesday. The occupants of the home at 1517 Branchwood Terrace reported the Nov. 19 fire at approximately 8:53 p.m. Almost 60 firefighters from four departments spent 20 minutes extinguishing the fire, which had erupted through the second floor bathroom exhaust fan from the attic.
According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, the crackling of flames could be heard above the bathroom ceiling. Firefighters first on the scene reported smoke coming out from the eaves on all sides of the home and fire reaching up through the roof. The fire is being investigated by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit. There were no injuries but the three adult occupants of the home have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
