A Severn-area resident reportedly fended off a bicycle thief Monday night who then allegedly broke into a truck.
Anne Arundel County Police were called about 11 p.m. to the area of Teppers Road and New Cut Road near Severn for a theft complaint. The victim told offices a man had just stolen a bicycle from his yard. The call said he was able to run down the suspect and take the bicycle back, but the man fled the area before police arrived.
While still in the area, officers were approached by a witness who said someone had just broken into a nearby vehicle. The suspect’s description matched the man from the bicycle theft.
