SEALs Are In the News and In the Library

SEALs in the news and at the library!

Ok, the Navy SEALs aren't actually at the library, but there are lots of books out about them. A new book called "SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy SEAL Sniper" by Howard E. Wasdin and Stephen Templin, was released on May 10, 2011 (great timing, right?!) and there are a lot of other non-fiction books about the Navy's elite fighting team.

My name is on the waiting list for the new Team Six book, but my favorite books about SEALs are a bit less educational! They are the Troubleshooters series by Suzanne Brockmann, starting with Book one, "Unsung Hero."

Billed as romantic suspense, they step out of the usual romance or military fiction genre stereotypes by adding the elements of a mystery and unexpected twists such as a gay member of the SEAL team. The characters and their relationships draw you into the story and make you feel like you know the characters personally! The most recent Troubleshooters book is "Breaking the Rules"  - a great choice for a rainy afternoon!
