I was catching up on Facebook earlier this week and a friend mentioned that she was working on a summer “bucket list” with her two young kids. What a great idea! This is (if all goes as planned) my last summer of being a stay at home mom. Next summer I’ll be working full-time, and my kids will be going to camp every week. That’s not going to leave much time for adventures and lazy summer days. So instead of looking at it as trying to keep the kids from killing each other all summer, I’m looking at it as trying to figure out how much fun stuff we can do.
I haven’t gotten much input from the kids yet, but some of the items on our list so far include:
- Swimming
- Seeing movies
- Farmers market (and cooking using our fresh bounty)
- Library events
- Picnics
- Riding bikes and scooters
- Elioak Farm
- Dutch Wonderland (several times, we have season passes)
- Chesapeake Beach Water Park
- Beach
Do you have a summer bucket list for your family? Or for yourself? What kinds of fun things are you planning?
