Coronavirus: Amazon Employee At Hanover Site Tests Positive

The company released a statement that it has since increased its cleaning efforts and offers two weeks' of pay to anyone who tests positive.

HANOVER, MD — An employee who works at the Amazon distribution center in Hanover has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the company stated. Since the discovery of the positive case, the company said it will boost its cleaning efforts and extend two weeks' pay to any Amazon employee who must quarantine or also tests positive for the virus.

“We are supporting the individual who is recovering. We are following guidelines from health officials and medical experts, and are taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of employees at our site," the company statement noted.

The company has told all of its employees at the facility about the case. In late March, an employee who worked at the Amazon distribution center in Sparrows Point also tested positive for the new coronavirus.
