Crime Victim Takes Bite Out of Robber: Police

A woman who was robbed in a Pizza Hut parking lot chomped on the thief as he grabbed her purse, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

A woman robbed while putting her pizza in her vehicle chomped down on the suspect’s hand in an unsuccessful effort to keep the thief from stealing her purse, police say.

The theft in the Pizza Hut parking lot at 5000 Ritchie Highway South in Brooklyn Park was captured on video.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, the 58-year-old victim was placing her purchase inside her car Sunday afternoon when the suspect approached her and implied he had a weapon in his waistband. As the man reached into the vehicle to take the victim’s purse, she bit the suspect’s hand and struggled with him as he attempted to take the purse, however, he was able to get the purse.

The suspect then ran to his vehicle, which was parked on the same lot, and drove off on 10th Avenue toward Morgan Road. Officers searched the area for the suspect, but didn’t find him.

The victim was not injured in this incident.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned African-American man, about 6 feet tall, with a thin build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

He was reportedly driving a tan or gold minivan or SVU, no tint on windows. The Maryland tag contains the numbers ‘460’ in some variation.
