Driver Hits Woman Walking Dog, Flees: Police

Anne Arundel County Police are looking for the driver who hit a woman and her dog, injuring both, Friday morning in Odenton.

ODENTON, MD — Anne Arundel County Police are looking for the driver who hit a woman and her dog, injuring both, Friday morning in Odenton, and then fled the scene. The accident happened just before 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Charter Oaks Boulevard and Saint Michael’s Circle as a woman was walking her dog on Charter Oaks Boulevard.

Authorities say a light colored, two-door Chevrolet Monte Carlo with tinted windows struck the victim and her dog. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the crash. The victim was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

Anne Arundel County Animal Control responded to care for the dog, which suffered serious injuries.

Officers searched the area, but they did not locate the vehicle. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call police at 410-222-6155 or the department's Tip Line at 410-222-4700.
