ODENTON, MD — An Owings Mills man died Monday morning when his car veered off Crain Highway in Odenton and hit a utility pole, Anne Arundel County Police said.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 5:30 a.m. along southbound Crain Highway at St. Stephen’s Church Road. According to a police news release, a 2015 Honda Accord Sport was southbound on Crain Highway approaching St. Stephen’s Church Road when it veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The driver — Derrell Amir Walker, 20, of Owings Mills — was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel.

Investigators don't yet know why the vehicle went off the road.
