Driver Of Stolen Car Crashes During Pursuit Near Hanover: Police
A short police pursuit led to the driver of a stolen Sonata crashing into three cars on the I-695 ramp near Hanover causing minor injuries.
HANOVER, MD — One person was injured during a short-lived police pursuit that unfolded in Anne Arundel County Tuesday. At approximately 10:57 a.m., an Anne Arundel County police officer noticed a black Hyundai Sonata traveling near Arundel Mills that matched the description of a stolen vehicle.
The officer began trailing the vehicle from Route 100 to 295, then flipped on his police lights to pull the vehicle over. But the driver refused to stop. Instead, the driver entered I-695 and suddenly swerved onto the westbound ramp, crashing into three vehicles at the top of the ramp. One person sustained minor injuries. The suspect fled the scene and police are still searching for the vehicle with a Maryland tag and number 4DD7497.
