Jamaican 50th Anniversary Celebration

When: Monday, 3 p.m.
Where: Charisse Caribbean Shop, 1582 Annapolis Rd., Odenton.

Details: A day after Jamaica's Usain Bolt reaffirmed his status as the world's fastest man, the local caribbean shop will have a celebration to honor Independence Day in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. There will be food and drink specials, and residents are encouraged to come and just hang out. 

Matt Centrowitz in the Olympic 1,500 Meters

When: Tuesday, 5:15 p.m. ET
Where: London, NBCOlympics.com

Piney Orchard Meeting on Two Rivers Project

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Where: Piney Orchard Community Center

Details: Piney Orchard will hold a meeting to hear details about developers' plans to build more than 2,000 homes and possible a new elementary school just south of the community. They will also discuss the possibility of an extension of Evergreen Road. There will be time for questions from the public.
