Gambrills Woman Robbed By Man She Gave Ride To: Police
An Odenton man is charged with robbing a woman who gave him a ride, say Anne Arundel County Police.

GAMBRILLS, MD — An Odenton man is charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint who gave him a ride, say Anne Arundel County Police. The Gambrills woman called police Thursday night to report that a man asked her for a ride, she agreed and drove him to the area of Waugh Chapel Road. While en route, the man reportedly took out a handgun and demanded the woman’s cell phone and wallet. She gave him her property and the man got out of her vehicle and ran away.
Several officers searched the area and found the robbery suspect outside his residence on Montery Avenue. Clayton Murphy, 19, of the 500 block of Montery Avenue in Odenton, was taken into custody and identified by the victim as the man who robbed her.
Police says they found money on a wooded trail nearby and a BB gun was located in Murphy's residence. Officers did not find the victim’s cell phone.

Murphy was arrested and charged with armed robbery, robbery, false imprisonment, first-degree assault and use of a handgun in commission of a felony.
