Heroin Raid at Hanover Hotel Leads to Arrest

A Laurel man was arrested with heroin and cash in his possession, say Anne Arundel County Police.

HANOVER, MD — A man is charged with selling heroin after a raid at a Hanover hotel, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Detectives were conducting surveillance of the Homewood Suites Hotel, 7491 New Ridge Road in Hanover after receiving multiple complaints of loitering and drug dealing at the hotel.

On Monday, detectives saw a vehicle matching the description of the reported drug dealer enter the hotel parking lot. The suspect pulled next to another vehicle that was waiting in the hotel’s parking lot. Detectives approached the vehicle, and interrupted the heroin sale. Police say the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Dominic Raphael Barnes, 21, of the 8500 block of Imperial Drive in Laurel was charged with: CDS: distribution of heroin; CDS: possession with intent to distribute heroin; and possession of CDS heroin.

Police seized from Barnes 58 baggies of heroin with a street value of $3,588 and $1,855 in cash.
