Odenton Volunteers make Christmas merry and bright for county children.

On December 22, 2018, David Lewis, President of the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company turned over $3,000 in Christmas toys to the Sharing Foundation of Anne Arundel County. The foundation will be supporting 568 children across Anne Arundel County who otherwise may not have a Merry Christmas. Ken Maley, Chairman for the Sharing Foundation was overwhelmed by the large number of gifts that were being donated to this worthy cause. He said that the fire company donation was the largest single donation that they received, other than their partnership with the Toys for Tots Campaign. He said that they normally place collection barrels in 28 different schools across Anne Arundel County and today's donation surpassed what normally would be collected in more than six of the “best” collection schools.

Credit for this donation event goes to Brandy Boulden who came to the Board of Director's several months ago with an idea and a vision. The collection of donations, culminated by the Cookies and Crafts With Santa event on December 16, 2018 brought in more than 400 children and parents.
