FORT MEADE, MD -- A boy reported being robbed by two suspects in the parking lot of Meade Middle School at 6 p.m. June 3. The youth said he was walking in the area when the two suspects approached him and one asked if he could borrow his phone to make a call. The victim handed over his phone and then the suspect yelled, "Do you have any money?" while hitting the boy with his hands.
The first robber continued to assault the victim and knocked him down. When the victim stood back up, the second robber pulled a handgun. The boy ran off, according to a police report from the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Detectives investigated the incident and positively identified the suspects with help from the school's resource unit and the board of education's security unit.
Search and seizure warrants were executed by detectives at both suspects' homes and they were arrested at that time. Both Diego Rodriguez, 18, and Uthman Adegboyega, 16, are being charged as adults with armed robbery, theft and assault-related charges.
