Man Arrested After Firing Gun In Laurel Hotel Room: Police

A Hanover man apparently on drugs was arrested for firing a gun in his Laurel hotel room, Anne Arundel County Police say.

LAUREL, MD — A Hanover man apparently on drugs was arrested for firing a gun in his Laurel hotel room, Anne Arundel County Police say. Officers received reports of gunshots just before 1 p.m. Sunday linked to a man who was behaving erratically and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance at the Garden Inn Hotel at 3400 Laurel-Ft. Meade Road in Laurel.

Maryland Route 198 was closed for a brief period while officers took the suspect into custody. Investigators say Jesse Jordan Scrivner, 21, of the 7700 block of Kidwell Drive in Hanover, discharged a firearm inside his room, causing property damage. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunshot.

Scrivner was charged with reckless endangerment, firearm use in the commission of a violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, disorderly conduct, malicious destruction of property, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, and related offenses.
