Man Charged With Destroying Sports Fields: Police
A Linthicum Heights man was charged with destruction of property after an off-road vehicle was used on three sports fields, police said.
ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD — Benjamin Cody Finney, a 32-year-old man from Linthicum Heights, is facing several charges after police say he destroyed school property.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a release that Finney was tied to vandalism reported at sports fields on Andover Road that belong to the Lindale Middle School.
A total of three fields used for lacrosse, baseball and general practice had extensive damage.

School staff said the incidents happened on April 3 and on April 5. Police were first alerted to the property damage on April 6.
A review of surveillance footage showed a red and black off-road vehicle driving at high speeds on the fields, police said.

Incidentally, that same off-road vehicle was stopped on April 5 by another officer after Finney, who was driving near the intersection of Nursery Road and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, was observed going off the roadway and driving across the grass.
It wasn't until the following day that Finney was linked to the property destruction investigation.
Finney has been charged on a criminal summons with malicious destruction of property and two counts of trespassing.
