Memorial Day 2016: Odenton Carnival + Parade, Plus Closings (ICYMI)
While Odenton offices and schools are closed for Memorial Day, the annual carnival is in full swing, plus a parade.
ODENTON, MD — The Memorial Day holiday is on Monday, May 30. But the fun began early in Odenton.
The Odenton Volunteer Fire Company 2016 Carnival kicked off Tuesday and runs through Memorial Day, May 30. Hours are:
- May 29: Carnival opens at 5 p.m.
- May 30: Carnival opens at 4 p.m.
The department's Memorial Day Parade will start at 5 p.m. on May 30.

In observance of the holiday, Anne Arundel County government offices will be closed, along with all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and central offices and libraries.
Trash and recycling collection in the county will be delayed a day. If Monday is the normal collection day, service will occur on Tuesday. If Tuesday is the normal collection day, service will take place on Wednesday. The county landfill and recycling centers will be closed Monday.
