Millersville Man Killed In Three-Car Accident On Veterans Highway
A 32-year-old Millersville man died in a three-car accident on Veterans Highway Sept. 12 when he attempted to pass cars on the shoulder.
MILLERSVILLE, MD — A 32-year-old Millersville man has died in a three-car accident on Veterans Highway near St. Anne Lane in Millersville. The accident occurred Sept. 12 at 8 a.m.
A 1996 Toyota Camry driven by Elias Matthew Larock was southbound on Veterans Highway when, according to witnesses, Larock drove onto the right shoulder to pass stopped vehicles. When Larock attempted to re-enter traffic, he hit a southbound 2012 Hyundai Sedan driven by 47-year-old Jason R. Slack of Centerville.
Larock's vehicle then spun around, crossing the center line and hitting a 2011 Ford van driven by 36-year-old Robert Hunter Merriman of Crownsville, knocking the van off the roadway. Larock was transported by ambulance to a local trauma center where he was pronounced dead. Merriman was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Slack was uninjured, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
