Missing Severn Boy Spotted in Alabama: FBI

A Severn boy reported missing by his father is at the center of a custody battle; the child may be in Birmingham, Alabama, the FBI says.

SEVERN, MD — A 4-year-old boy reported missing by his father in Severn last week may have been seen over the weekend in Birmingham, Alabama, according to the FBI. Matthew Carrington may be the subject of a custody battle between his parents, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Spokesman Marc Limansky says the department was called last week to make a missing person report; the boy's mother may be in Alabama with Matthew and allegedly has not returned him to his father, who has custody. Once the local police report was made, the FBI began its investigation.

A news release from the FBI says Matthew has not been seen since Oct. 15, 2016 in Birmingham. Federal authorities say the youngster may be traveling with suspects who should be considered armed and dangerous, reports WTOP.
