Crofton, MD — A Halethorpe man died Saturday night when a vehicle pulled out in front of his speeding motorcycle, and the driver fled, authorities said.
The accident between a Kawasaki motorcycle and a silver van or SUV, possibly a Ford, was reported about 11:30 p.m. at MD Route 3 at Capital Raceway Road. The motorcycle was driven by Lafawn Augustus Stevens Jr., 29, of Halethorpe.
Anne Arundel County Police say Stevens' motorcycle was southbound on MD Route 3 approaching Capital Raceway Road. Witnesses said the van or SUV pulled from Capital Raceway Road, crossed two lanes of traffic, then abruptly turned left onto a crossover to northbound Route 3.
