Odenton Condo Fire Causes $200K in Damage

No injuries were reported in the blaze, officials said.

A two-alarm fire Thursday morning in a condominium building under construction in Odenton caused an estimated $200,000 damage, officials said.

Just after 9:30 a.m. construction workers in the building called 911 reporting smoke on the fourth floor of the four-story building. Anne Arundel County Fire Department called for a second alarm, which brought 50 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Fort Meade and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport to the scene.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in about 50 minutes, containing the fire to the unit and floor of origin.

The fire is under investigation by members of the Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
