Mother Called Police After Hearing of Amber Alert: Officials

Woman and two children went to Delaware, according to Anne Arundel County Police Department.

The woman who disappeared with her two children from Odenton Tuesday following a domestic dispute called authorities to turn herself in after hearing that an Amber alert had been issued to help locate her, police said.

Tiamarie Valenzuela, 27, contacted authorities upon receiving calls about the Amber alert issued for her and her two young children, according to a report from the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Anne Arundel County Police put out the alert Tuesday afternoon after Valenzuela had a dispute with her boyfriend in which she threatened to drive the children off the Delaware bridge, police said.

According to the report, Valenzuela was found, unharmed, with the children in Newcastle, DE.

At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, officials with the Newcastle Police Department confirmed that Valenzuela and her 1 and 2-year-old children were OK, according to the report.

The two police departments are continuing to collaborate on the investigation, the report said.

With the assistance of the public, the media and neighboring police departments, the Anne Arundel County Police Department was able to verify the safety of Tiamarie Valenzuela and her two children.

An Amber Alert was issued because we were concerned about the well-being of the children. The car discrepancy early on in this investigation was due to the family having multiple vehicles.

They were located, safe, in Newcastle, Delaware around 8:00 p.m. Ms. Valenzuela called in herself after receiving calls about the Amber Alerts. Officials from the Newcastle Police Department were able to verify the safety and well-being of Ms Valenzuela and her children.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is working closely with the Newcastle Police Department as this investigation continues.

Right now, there are no criminal charges pending.
