Odenton Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Dump Truck In Gambrills: Police

An Odenton pedestrian was fatally struck by a dump truck in Gambrills, police said. The collision happened on Maryland Route 3.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Police announced that a pedestrian died on Nov. 22 after she was hit by a dump truck in Gambrills on Maryland Route 3. Officers identified the victim as 28-year-old Channing Danielle Jeffries of Odenton.

Authorities heard word of the crash in the 700 block of Crain Highway North around 12:20 a.m. Police said the victim was in the travel portion of the road wearing dark, non-reflective clothing when she was struck by a 2013 Western Star 4700.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene. The driver was not hurt.

Officers think pedestrian error was the primary cause of the collision. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is still investigating.
