Odenton Pedestrian Killed While Walking On Road: Police

Authorities have released the name of an Odenton man who was fatally hit by an Annapolis driver.

ODENTON, MD — Anne Arundel County Police have released the name of an Odenton pedestrian who was fatally hit by an Annapolis driver just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. The fatal accident happened on Conway Road near Patuxent River Road in Odenton.

A Honda Odyssey van driven by Teray Maurice Lemon, 33, of Annapolis, was eastbound on Conway Road toward Crain Highway (MD Rt 3) when it struck one of two pedestrians who were walking in the eastbound lane. Police say the victim — Jonathan Huber, 27, of the 1200 block of Patuxent Road in Odenton — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second pedestrian was not hurt. Lemon remained at the scene and was uninjured, authorities say.

The preliminary cause of the crash appears to be the pedestrians walking in the roadway, according to investigators. Weather conditions were poor at the time and may have contributed to the accident. The case will be reviewed by the state's attorney.
