Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Receives Federal Grant
The Odenton Volunteer Fire Company has been awarded a $238,400 grant from FEMA to help with recruitment and retention.
ODENTON, MD — The Odenton Volunteer Fire Company has been awarded $238,400 in grant money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant program to enhance recruitment and retention activities in order to attract new members to the fire company and help retain existing members.
The four-year grant will continue the recruitment and retention activities implemented after the department received a grant in 2015. Anyone interested in become an EMT or a volunteer firefighter, or are currently an Emergency Medical Technician basic or advanced life support (EMT-B/ EMT-P), visit www.ovfc28.org or stop by the station.
