Open House and Child ID Program

Masonic Lodge holding child ID program for local families for free. Cub Scouts also holding open house for recruiting new scouts.

Odenton Lodge 209 AF & AM, located at 1206 Stehlik Drive in Odenton, will be holding an Open House on Saturday, April 23rd between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. During the Open House the Masons will be conducting the MDChip program for all children that come by for free.

The MDChip program is a comprehensive identification and protection program designed to give families a measure of protection against the ever increasing problem of missing children. This program is provided "Free of Charge" to any Maryland family that would like to participate. All identifying items generated at the MDChip events are placed in a pack and given to the parent or guardian to take home for safe keeping. If their child becomes missing the pack can then be given to local police authorities to aid in recovery and identification. The Maryland Freemasons keep nothing but the signed permission form signed by the parent.

What is provided:  CD with child's name, address, height, weight, eye color, hair color, description of distinguishing marks, notes on health concerns, birth date, parental / guardian contact information, 3-4 photos, a video interview of the child, digital fingerprints and DNA sample.

Pack 209 provides a year-round program, helping the boys to grow into responsible adults and also providing the chance to be outdoors and learn how to preserve our environment, plus just have some fun. Some of our upcoming outdoor activities include a camping tripw to Sandy Point State Park, Williamsburg, VA,  Patapsco Valley State Park, Down's Memorial Park and Antietam Battlefield, and day trips to Fort McHenry, a pirate ship ride, bowling, and attending a Pow Wow.
