Police Arrest Three Men on Gun, Drug Charges in Severn in One Night (ICYMI)
Anne Arundel County Police arrested Glen Burnie men in three separate gun cases Thursday; one suspect had PCP, officers said.

SEVERN, MD — Three Glen Burnie men were arrested for illegal gun sales and drug possession in separate cases Thursday in Severn, police say
Anne Arundel County Police say the first arrest happened about 4 p.m. when detectives were in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road. They reportedly saw Thomas David Preschel, 25, of 8175 Turn Loop Road in Glen Burnie, take several rifle cases out of a vehicle’s trunk.
Detectives found that Preschel was prohibited from having firearms. When they arrested him for the weapons offense, detectives recovered a Hi Point 9mm rifle, Savage .22 caliber rifle, and an M&P .22 caliber rifle. Police also confiscated 110 rounds of ammunition.

Preschel told police he was taking the weapons to the shooting range for target practice. He was charged with.
- Illegal possession of rifle/shotgun (3 counts)
- Illegal possession of ammunition
In the next case, detectives stopped a vehicle about 11 p.m. near Reece Road and Carinoso Way. As police approached the vehicle they smelled marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle -- Dangelo Lavell Maddox, 19, of 54 Glen Ridge Road in Glen Burnie -- was found carrying a loaded .380 handgun. Police say Maddox was sought on a warrant for a 2013 armed robbery in Anne Arundel County.
Maddow was arrested and charged with:
- Handgun on person
- Handgun in vehicle
- Illegal possession of firearm
- Illegal possession of ammunition
About 30 minutes after the arrest of Maddox, police were called to a report of a gunshot heard in the area of Durness Court and Stillmeadows Drive. Detectives reportedly saw Carlton Kelvin Spriggs, 38, of 410 Hidden Brook in Glen Burnie armed with a handgun.
Spriggs was taken into custody after a brief struggle, police say.
Officers found that he had a loaded Davis Industries .380 with him and two empty bottles containing trace amounts of PCP.
Spriggs was charged with:
- Handgun on person
- Illegal possession of firearm
- Possession of firearm with CDS
- Reckless endangerment
- Obstructing and hindering
- CDS possession not marijuana
- CDS possession paraphernalia
