Police Find, Arrest Wanted Man During Traffic Stop: Report

Police found a wanted man during a traffic stop, a report said. Officers searched his car. Here's what they found.

HANOVER, MD — Police said they found a wanted Washington, D.C. man during a Jan. 6 traffic stop in Hanover. Officers detained the driver after they realized he had an active warrant, an incident report noted.

The write-up added that police inspected the suspect and his silver Nissan Versa. Officers found a loaded 9mm Kahr handgun and about 19 grams of suspected marijuana, the release indicated.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said they arrested the accused man, 24-year-old Deandre Davonte Thomas-Wharton, and charged him accordingly. The encounter happened around 10:10 a.m. near the intersection of Maryland Route 100 and Arundel Mills Boulevard, the report concluded.
