Police Searching For Intruder Who Sexually Assaulted Sleeping Woman

SEVERN, MD — Police are searching for a man accused of breaking into a Severn home and sexually assaulting a woman.

Anne Arundel County Police said officers responded to a home on the 700 block of Old Donaldson Avenue at about 1:10 a.m. on Sunday.

At the scene, officers were told a woman at the home woke up to an unknown man sitting on her bed and sexually assaulting her. The man quickly fled the home after the woman began screaming and confronting him.

Despite a search of the area, including with the help of a K-9 unit, investigators were not able to locate the intruder.

Police described the wanted individual as a man wearing a gray/black hoodie or sweatshirt.

Early findings in the investigation suggest the incident to be "random in nature," according to police.
