Resident, Firefighter Injured In Crownsville Home Fire: Officials

The fire broke out Friday afternoon and caused $300,000 worth of damage.

CROWNSVILLE, MD — A two-story single-family home caught on fire Friday, sustaining $300,000 in damage. A man living in the home suffered smoke inhalation and had to be taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment. Two other adults evacuated the home without incident. A firefighter with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department also had to be taken to the hospital to be checked out.

The fire broke out at approximately 1:14 p.m. at 836 Birch Trail. Almost 50 firefighters assisted in battling the blaze that appeared to have started in the garage. The Red Cross is assisting the three adults and one dog who were displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit.
