Ride-Share Driver Assaulted, Robbed In Hanover: Police

A ride-share driver was assaulted and robbed in Hanover, police said. The suspects slashed the driver's tire and stole his camera.

HANOVER, MD — Police announced that passengers assaulted and robbed their ride-share driver Tuesday in Hanover. The 33-year-old driver sustained a minor hand injury during the attack.

Officers said the assault happened around 3 a.m. near Dorchester Boulevard and Arbor Grove Drive. The driver was picking up a group, but he could not accommodate all the passengers.

One passenger stole the victim's camera, authorities said. Police accused another suspect of:

  • Displaying a knife
  • Kicking and punching the driver
  • Puncturing a back tire

The three males and one female then fled, officers said.

Authorities did not mention which ride-sharing service the driver was working for.
