Hiding Gun In Snow: Rockville Man Arrested After Hanover Crash, Police Say

A man hid his loaded gun in the snow after a Hanover crash, police said. Officers arrested the Rockville suspect.

HANOVER, MD — A Montgomery County man hid his handgun in the snow last Thursday after an Anne Arundel County crash, police announced. Officers said they arrested the accused Rockville man, identified as 34-year-old Riad Salaouatchi.

The wreck happened in Hanover around 2:50 p.m. Responding authorities said they saw one of the drivers burying his weapon near Arundel Mills Boulevard.

Police said they uncovered the loaded 9-mm polymer 80 with an extended magazine. Officers discovered that the weapon is a ghost gun, meaning it has no serial number and is untrackable.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it arrested the suspect after learning he was legally prohibited from having firearms.
