SEVERN, MD — A Severn family of three has been displaced after a fire damaged their house Saturday night, authorities say. Just before 10:30 p.m. firefighters were called to a blaze in the 8100 block of Quarterfield Road.

Firefighters found a fire in the living room of the home, which they quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation with damages estimated at $60,000 from fire damage in the living room and smoke damage throughout the home.

The home's residents, two adults and a child, were not in the house at the time of the fire. They have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
