Severn Man Hospitalized With Gunshot Wounds

SEVERN, MD — A man shot early Monday in Severn is being treated at an area hospital, but hasn't been able to help police find a suspect.

The shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. in the 8200 block of Durness Court in Severn. Anne Arundel County Police found a man lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim was coherent, but could not give police officers any information about the assault.

Medics took the victim to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, officials said. Authorities have not released the victim's name.

Several police units, including K9 and a police helicopter, searched the area, but no suspects were located.
