Severn Man Shot in Leg: Police

A Severn man was shot about 4:30 a.m. Monday on Richfield Drive, say police, who are searching for suspects.

Severn, MD — A man was shot in the leg early Monday morning while walking near Pioneer Drive and Arwell Court in Severn, authorities say.

Anne Arundel County Police officers met with the 30-year-old male victim at Laurel Regional Hospital.

The man said that about 4:30 a.m. he was walking when three people approached him. One of the suspects took out a handgun, shot the Severn man in the leg, then fled on foot. The injured man went to a family member’s house nearby and was driven by family to the Laurel hospital.

Additional officers responded to the area of Pioneer Drive and located a possible crime scene on Richfield Drive. Detectives are still interviewing the victim and searching the area for witnesses.
