Shopper At Waugh Chapel Drives Away From Armed Robber: Police

GAMBRILLS, MD — Anne Arundel County Police say an armed robber demanded a Waugh Chapel shopper's purse, but she drove off instead. A woman carrying a handgun confronted a woman about 1 p.m. Sunday at the Waugh Chapel Shopping Center in the 2600 block of Chapel Lake Drive. The victim told police that she refused to hand over her bag, and drove away from the robber.

Several officers searched the area but were unable to find the robber, described as in her early 40s, medium height, medium weight, wearing dark clothes with dark sunglasses.
