UPDATE: Tanker Crash Spills Diesel Fuel, Roads Open
The crash had roads closed in Gambrills during the hours of cleanup Monday; all roads were open at 1 p.m.

GAMBRILLS, MD — An overturned tanker truck spilling diesel fuel close Route 3 in the Gambrills area for hours Monday, with the highway reopening about 1 p.m.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m.; the cause is unknown.

Authorities say the truck driver was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries that appeared to be non-life threatening.
The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said on Twitter that it will take crews two hours to remove the diesel from tanker and then the truck needs to be removed from the ravine it landed in before the road reopens.

The crash has closed southbound Route 3 from I97 South prior to Route 175.
The tanker is leaking diesel at a rate of 20-30 gallons per minute. Officials say the truck had 8,000 gallons of fuel in the tank.
