Teen Arrested After Bonfire Altercation: Police

A 17-year-old from Glen Burnie was arrested Thursday after pulling a gun at a bonfire dispute, police said.

ODENTON-SEVERN, MD — A teenager was arrested and charged after bringing a gun to a bonfire dispute, authorities said.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said Friday that officers were called to the 8000 block of Quarterfield Road in Severn for a physical disturbance that involved a gun.

Officers responded to the report at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday.

At the scene, officials determined that a 17-year-old boy arrived unannounced and started an argument.

The situation escalated when the teen retrieved a handgun from his car and pointed it at an individual at the bonfire.

Although the teenager fled the scene before officers arrived, police were able to track him down at his home.

He was taken into police custody without further incident and was charged. The department has not disclosed what charges were filed in the case.
