Teen Suspected of Stashing Loaded Gun in Bushes

Police conducting narcotics surveillance in Severn spotted the teenager hiding a gun.

A Severn teenager was stopped by police for allegedly hiding a loaded handgun during a narcotics surveillance effort.

Anne Arundel County Police narcotics team members were conducting covert surveillance after midnight Thursday in the 1600 block of Meade Village Circle.

During their surveillance, detectives reportedly saw a suspect loitering near some bushes, and who appeared to place something inside the bushes.

Detectives saw a MOD EA .380 semi-automatic handgun in the bushes where the teen was standing. The handgun was fully loaded with six rounds in the magazine plus one round in the chamber.

The suspect is a 16-year-old boy from Meade Village Circle in Severn, police said.
